São Carlos Empreendimentos is one of Brazil’s leading investment and commercial property administration companies.
The Company is specialized in acquiring real estate and developing them, increasing their profitability. São Carlos’ purpose is to maximize the rental income of the properties and the value of the Company’s portfolio through a strategy that includes:
- investing in large office buildings, retail properties, and residential real estate
- implementing improvements based on active and professional management, and increasing rental prices
- selling mature properties that have already reached their full revenue potential
The Company’s portfolio mainly comprises class-A office buildings and retail properties located in the States of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. São Carlos does not work with hotels, shopping malls, or small offices.
The Company was created from the spin-off of the real estate assets of the Lojas Americanas group in 1999, to independently operate in the commercial real estate sector. São Carlos became a publicly held company with shares traded on BOVESPA, with real estate and financial assets, and no corporate relation with Lojas Americanas.
In 2006, the Company migrated to the Novo Mercado corporate governance segment of BM&Fbovespa under the ticker SCAR3, when it held a public offering of primary and secondary shares totaling R$480 million.
